Even though we might live with a mental illness, we can live a full life! Anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, substance use, grief… we may have these experiences in our lives, but they do not need to be in control. We can live a life focused on our values, with meaning, and courageous strength. Since 2012 I've had the privilege of walking with youth, adults, couples, and families, helping them create a life worth living. What we learn to accept can transform us and help us cultivate a rich and meaningful life. "You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending" – C.S. Lewis. This kind of reordering of our lives creates psychological flexibility that strengthens our well-being. We can learn how to drop the tug-of-war with these things and, instead, focus on what matters! My preferred treatment approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. I developed this approach through my work with adolescents in the school setting, working adults living with severe mental illness, as well as families and older adults dealing with trauma and grief. I invite you to call, text, or email me. We can discuss your concerns, hopes, goals, and see if we would be a good “fit.” We can then sit down and layout a road-map for accomplishing your goals. I look forward to speaking with you!
