Introduction

Hello! I opened The Genshai Trauma Recovery Center to offer a place of recovery, hope, and healing to everyone that enters my doors. I am most passionate about sending the message that real recovery and healing is possible. I strive to be an agent of change supporting, encouraging and teaching those who work with me how to process emotions and understand and replace limiting beliefs. I am a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls and I am proud to call it home. I earned my Master of Counseling; with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling at Idaho State University in 2004 and I have been a licensed counselor since then; I completed my undergraduate work at Brigham Young University majoring in Psychology. I specialize in addressing issues of trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiance, low self-esteem, addiction, and substance use disorders. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing), IRRT (imagery re-scripting reprocessing therapy), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, DBT, Moral Reconnation therapy, and Trauma Recovery Empowerment. I am also a state certified Clinical supervisor. I am a practitioner of Genshai, an ancient sacred word that means “Never treat another person in a manner that would make them feel small - including yourself and holding all people in their excellence”. My goal is to practice in a way that all people that work with me experience their divine potential through emotional healing, connection and physical activity.
