Introduction

Jenny believes that people can heal from mental health symptoms by finding their true self. Whether it be finding themselves again or for the first time. She believes that people are capable of achieving and maintaining lasting change. If we open up to the possibility, the healing process gets to be fun and easy. Jenny connects with her clients through her authenticity, energy, and enthusiasm for life and curiosity of what a life without symptoms looks like. APPROACH Jenny works from an energetic, compassionate, person centered, trauma-focused therapeutic approach. She often provides psychoeducation within sessions to help clients understand potential reasons for symptoms to occur. She incorporates a strength-based approach that allows her to gently challenge clients yet hold space for vulnerability and trial and error. She believes working though significant life events and practicing skills to manage mental health will sustain long-term recovery. CLINICAL INTERESTS She creates a safe, supportive environment to address difficulties like substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). Jenny works primarily with individuals and has a passion for group therapy such as Trauma Skills Group and Psychotherapy Groups. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Jenny earned her Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services as well as a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She has been a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) since 2016 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2020. She is also a BBHT Board Approved Supervisor. Jenny has worked in the mental health and substance use field for over 10 years in a variety of settings such as group homes, day treatment, low, medium, and high intensity outpatient settings. Jenny is trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) as modalities of processing trauma.
