I'm an introvert who loves working in private practice. Send me to a party to make small talk and I won't last very long. But deep, one-on-one conversations? Yes, please! I provide a judgement-free space where my clients can tell their stories - joyful, painful, and everything in between - without embarrassment. I value collaborating with my clients so they can thrive and live authentically. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Throughout my career, I've worked in residential, medical, and outpatient settings with every age from infant to elder. For the past four years, as an employee of Mt. Pleasant Counseling and Greater Michigan Gender Services, I've provided telehealth therapy to clients all over Michigan. When my amazing supervisor retired, I decided to become my own boss and started TeleMitten Counseling Services. I continue to meet with other mental health professionals for weekly consultation and attend continuing education classes to add to my skills as a therapist. I'm a parent and spouse in a neurodivergent family. Half of us are queer, and the other half put up with us! I enjoy creative writing, studying books on queer and feminist theology, reading romance novels, thrifting vintage kitchen ware, and hyperfocusing on whatever TV show I'm into at the moment. Ask me anything about Schitt's Creek, New Girl, Friends, Scrubs, or Sister Wives.
