I’m a licensed psychotherapist in Monterey, California. I’m originally from the Northeast, and I moved to Monterey to follow some of my passions, such as scuba diving and traveling. Before becoming a therapist, I was a teacher and I have taught on three continents. It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times. The more I’ve traveled and the more I've met people from diverse backgrounds, the more I’ve come to believe that we are fundamentally more alike than different, and our thoughts, feelings, environment, and values help shape who we think we are and how we see the world and respond to others. Those experiences led me to pursue a different journey of self-reflection, healing, and personal growth. I became a therapist to help people examine and change their lives as well. Becoming more self-aware, developing inner resources, offering compassion to self and others, learning to pause, and beginning to respond to situations versus reacting can help you change your world and transform your life. I provide trauma-focused, person-centered psychotherapy. I utilize an eclectic blend of modalities, such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). We all have a story to tell. I am here to listen to and help you make sense of yours. I am here to help you live the life you love and love the life you live. It takes a lot of courage to reach out when you need some help, and I look forward to supporting you and working with you on this journey together. I offer in-person as well as teletherapy sessions for those California residents who are unable to travel to Monterey. Let’s work together. I look forward to hearing from you.
