Hello! My name is Jennifer Meyer and I've had a lifelong passion for helping individuals who struggle with mental health and substance use. With over 20 years experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor within community mental health, I have worked extensively with individuals struggling with chronic mental health and substance use issues. This includes, but is not limited to: depression, anxiety, Bipolar, PTSD and other trauma-related issues, and psychotic disorders. My work has also focused on providing crisis counseling support, particularly concentrated on suicidal ideations and behaviors and providing grief/loss support for individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide. Additionally, I have provided clinical supervision for LPC Associates and graduate interns for the past 20 years. I LOVE working with new professionals and am dedicated to guiding new counselors as they develop and gain skills and hopefully a passion to continue a lifelong counselor career! My theoretical orientation primarily lies in Person-Centered therapy. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your life and your experiences. My role is to support you as you navigate through those life experiences. However, I also recognize that there are times where other therapeutic interventions may be more beneficial. I am also certified and/or trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
