Hi there! My name is Jen (she/her/hers). I am currently a graduate student at Xavier University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before starting this chapter of my life, I spent spent seven years working within the local public school system. My background in Education is what led to my career pivot as access to mental healthcare is one of the most universal barriers I witnessed students and families face. I hope to bridge that gap through my work as an intern at Rooted Compassion. I specialize in working with teenagers but I enjoy serving a variety of people and families, all ranging in age, background, interests, needs, and ability levels. I believe healing happens in relationship. I see clients as the experts of their own lives and aim to create a safe, supportive, and affirming environment for people to explore, grow, and heal themselves. I am committed to working alongside my clients—wherever they are in their personal journey—in a caring and collaborative way. My goal is to help empower people to live in authentic alignment with their own unique and individualized values. I am passionate about advocacy and dedicated to the continual work around collective liberation. I view systemic issues from an intersectional lens. I love serving the city of Cincinnati and seek to connect clients with resources and supports that can help them thrive in all aspects of life. Strong communities create a better world.
