Introduction
Hi, I'm Jennifer and I work with individuals and families impacted by adoption and foster care. My work is influenced by relationally focused psychodynamic theory, Attachment Theory, Neurobiology of Trauma, Attachment-Focused Family Therapy Model, and Internal Family Systems Perspective. The work I do is centered on providing parents the skills and framework necessary to parent a child with breaks in attachment, which the young mind interprets as trauma. I also help individuals in the adoption and foster care constellation address common concerns that arise in those impacted by adoption- adoptees, first families, and adoptive parents. I also facilitate monthly support groups for adult adoptees, birth/first mothers, and yearly retreats for both adult adoptees and birth/first mothers.
