I work with individuals at all stages of life struggling with anxiety, OCD, and related challenges. Anxiety comes in many “flavors” and looks different on everyone. As a former teacher, I am especially passionate about working with children and adolescents. Parents often report feeling heartbroken and frustrated as they try to figure out ways to help their child. I work with parents to strengthen their relationship with their child while also going beyond temporary fixes to address core issues. I also have a special interest in working with young adults struggling with stress and anxiety. My approach is based on empirical research, with emphasis on a relational perspective and integrating values that feel important to you. More specifically, this includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). I aim to help you approach your internal experiences with curiosity in order to build self-awareness and insight. While you can’t control your thoughts or feelings, adapting the way you respond allows you to form new patterns and have a different kind of experience. You may also benefit from specific strategies and skills that we can break down and practice together. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I recognize the importance of both empathetic understanding and practical tools in helping people move closer to the type of life they’d like to live and they way they’d like to feel.
