I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Martins College, Lacey, WA as well as a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Washington School of Professional Psychology, Seattle, WA. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in the State of Washington. I also have a background working with domestic violence, substance use disorders/addictions, trauma and mood disorders (Depression/Anxiety, PTSD and Bipolar Disorders). My primary theoretical orientation is based on a cognitive behavioral model. I see psychotherapy as a working relationship, which means we both have to contribute something for success. I usually like to work with each person on their own thoughts, feelings , behaviors and the systems in which they live and work. I try to start addressing any safety behaviors, behaviors that are compulsive or addictive and then work on self-defeating life philosophies, thinking errors and finally on system issues. I think the working relationship is characterized by support, education , skill enhancement and by discovery. I will assist you in defining your issues clearly as we help you learn skills and access resources, then the solutions are often found by you within yourself.
