Welcome . . . I am glad you are here. There are many times in life when we may need a guiding hand, someone to talk to, someone who is willing to listen, and/or a little extra support. Whatever brought you here today, I want you to know it took courage and bravery to take the first step in reaching out. Learning to live with an eating disorder takes time and patience. If this is what brought you here, then please reach out so we may talk more. There is hope. I would love to share some of my hope with you by building you up when you need a helping hand. As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand some of the nuances of being part of a world which can be overwhelming at times. I want you to know you can learn to manage the feelings of overwhelm to become the amazing person you are. You have a gift and the world needs us. If you are hoping to learn more about working with highly sensitive people (adults and children) and would like to expand your skills, I am able to offer clinical consultation. Please reach out to learn more. At this time all appointments are online through teletherapy platforms. Most of all, remember . . . you are important and you matter. When you first reach out it can be scary. Just visiting this website is a huge step. Upon contacting me, I will work to connect with you as soon as I can to set up an initial appointment and have a brief phone conversation. In the initial appointment we will discuss what brought you to therapy and to ensure there is a comfort level for you being able to work with me. As we build a relationship, I ask you to set goals which fit with what may help you most in life, sometimes this is done by picking a theme by using one word or phrase. Each session we build on skills learned and new insights which have been gained. I use a strengths based approach and I mostly practice from a cognitive behavioral perspective meaning I look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. At times I pull from other theories, however, this is a starting point. I work to provide you with the education and knowledge you may need to learn and grow especially if you have made recent discoveries about your life such as finding out you are a highly sensitive person or reaching out for the first time to address disordered eating patterns or an eating disorder. I work to meet you where you are in life and work collaboratively with you to help you discover your inner strengths.
