Introduction

I provide therapy services to individuals, couples, and families who are looking for relief, for insight, and for growth and change. My areas of speciality include trauma, depression, anxiety, and relational issues. I may be the right fit for you if you are suffering from the effects of past trauma, if you had a difficult relationship with a parent or caregiver, if your relationships are filled with uncertainty, if you are looking for a more solid sense of identity and meaning in your life. My therapeutic approach is based on an understanding of trauma, attachment, social justice, and client empowerment and grounded in these theories: psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. In our work together, we will collaborate to assist you in building insight into your emotions, behaviors, symptoms, strengths, and challenging relationship patterns, so that you can learn to understand and ‘diagnose’ your own experiences, identify and implement appropriate coping strategies, and in effect ‘become your own therapist’ by the end of our treatment together. While you may be struggling at the moment, I believe you are the ultimate expert about what you need to heal your current distress. By creating a safe space where you can let your defenses down, I can help you determine what these needs are and make steps toward meeting them.
