When I begin meeting with individuals for counseling I will often ask them if they have ever been to counseling before. Understandably, many individuals have reservations when considering therapy. Some worry that going to therapy might mean there is something wrong with them. Others worry what the counselor will think of them if they are truly honest. They wonder if the counselor will be a good fit. Or are concerned that it will be too difficult to face some aspects of their lives or self. I understand these genuine, troublesome concerns and have a heartfelt desire to provide a warm, inviting, calming, and uplifting atmosphere for my clients to explore and discover healthy perceptions of self and relationships. I completed a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition to my clinical training I carry a richness and diversity of life experience which supports my natural passion to be an advocate of healing. I specialize in developmental and complex trauma, mood disorders, social anxiety, parenting challenges, and finding resolutions to difficult family dynamics. I have experience working with teens ages 13+ and adults burdened with an injured self-image. I promote mindfulness, self-compassion, agency, and healthy boundaries to facilitate growth in a safe, nurturing environment. I look forward to supporting you on your journey of healing and growth. “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” – Albert Einstein
