It can be overwhelming and uncomfortable to ask for help. It takes courage. As a therapist, I strive to cultivate a safe and nonjudgmental space for us to address the obstacles you may be facing, and I work hard to develop a relationship with each of my clients to build trust and understanding. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and their families to address current and past challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment issues, substance use, and addiction. I offer a unique perspective, having walked in many shoes; before becoming a therapist, I worked as a field biologist, outdoor educator, high school teacher, wildlife guide, and small engine mechanic. Throughout my life I have learned that obstacles are easier to overcome when you have support. My goals are to guide you to understand your feelings, to learn what is healthy and works for you in your own behavior and in your relationships, and to support you through this process with curiosity, compassion, and kindness. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Ornithology and a Master’s in Social Work. I am dually licensed in Idaho and Wyoming and know the unique challenges we face living in a rural state. I approach therapy from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens, and specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. I also pull on other evidence-based practices and work to adapt my approach to meet your unique needs. In my free time I love being outdoors with my wife, dogs, friends, and family. I also enjoy being a volunteer member of Teton County Idaho Search and Rescue, and spending summers at our family’s horsepacking camp on the Yellowstone border.
