My name is Jeanny zelaya and I have worked in the mental/behavioral health field on and off for nearly 20 years. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Ga. and am a certified clinical trauma professional. From 2003 to 2007 I worked at a Rape Crisis Center serving and advocating for victims of sexual assault and their friends and family member. In 2009 I began working at a behavioral health hospital as a clinical assistant at the women's inpatient program, working mainly with patients who suffer from eating disorders and Trauma. During this time I went back to school to pursue my masters in marriage and family therapy.2 016 I started my roll as case manager for the women's trauma program. In 2019 I became lead program therapist for the women's day trauma program, working with patients committed to Healing unresolved trauma. In late 2020 I started my own private practice, Helping Heart Counseling. Although I have received a lot of Education that has allowed me to specialize in trauma therapy, my greatest teachers have been and continue to be, my clients both past and present. As your therapist I will lead/guide and support you in learning to create safety within your nervous system so that you can begin your journey of healing. I believe that Healing Begins inward with the self and moves outward outside of the self. Self awareness serves as a key focus so we can identify conditioned core beliefs about our own sense of worth, about people, and about the world and re condition those belief, as we heal, through the lens of self-compassion and self worth. For most, healing complex trauma means connecting with and healing our wounded inner child by utilizing tools and skills to regulate the nervous system and recondition beliefs and behaviors to re-parent the inner child.
