Introduction

At Glacier Lakes Therapy, counseling is ultimately not an end but a journey for both therapist and client. Counseling helps many clients face existing, past, and future problems that leave them emotionally upset or unable to cope. Therapists adopt many theories and approaches, yet most agree that building a solid and varied base of skills, therapeutic relationship and a deep theoretical understanding of counseling is essential for positive client outcomes. At Glacier Lakes Therapy we like to focus on what a client wants to work on for their personal goal, while giving praise and empowerment for life challenges. Hello, I am Jeanette Jochum-Lindstrom owner and therapist at Glacier Lakes Therapy. I have a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I also have a Bachelors' degree in Applied Psychology from Saint Cloud State University and MBA Certificate in Aging from Boston University for Geriatric Social Work. I have assisted clients of all ages with overcoming challenges related to all areas of life and has experience working with individuals, families and groups. I have worked in the mental health counseling area for 25+ years as an, outpatient therapist, qualified mental health practitioner, mental health practitioner, senior outreach specialist, vocational counselor with work related challenges, primary counselor with at risk youth and children's advocate in domestic violence. I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD, autism spectrum disorder, adoption/foster care issues, grief/loss, trauma, PTSD/stress, ADHD, parenting issues, work issues and relationship/family issues. I like to focus on a person's present and future goals, while offering encouragement to develop realistic solutions to challenges in life. I offer a form of creative therapy geared towards life events at the client’s pace through play, art, and language. The creative process allows clients to explore emotions, conflicts, social skills, self-awareness and self-esteem. I am especially interested in working with children 5-17, families, adults and couples. I also offer animal assisted therapy per request.
