Introduction

I got started in the field of psychology over 35 years ago when I went to Antioch University in Santa Barbara to finish my Bachelor's Degree. Most of the classes offered were connected to psychology. I was startled to find that many things about myself started to make sense. From there I went into therapy. I received a Master's Degree from California State Northridge and then earned my license in Marriage Family Counseling. I have worked with children and families in schools, adolescents in treatment centers, and dual diagnosis patients and their families in a psychiatric hospital - Sierra Tucson. One of my specialties is working with adolescents and adults in transitions, like leaving home, entering or exiting a relationship, exploring gender identities or aging. Some of the things you may be struggling with need immediate relief. We will work together to create a toolbox for coping with and managing these difficulties. Other times, deeper issues are best addressed by looking at your early experiences in life, and the present patterns that can result from them. Along with that can go depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and addiction. We all have been taught many things; and, in looking at them now, we may decide some are no longer useful. My life experience and training are resources I bring to bear in working with my clients. It would be an honor to partner with you on your journey. I want you to feel seen and heard - and, not judged. I won't be an empty slate; and neither will I impose my opinions and ideas on you. I look forward to hearing from you.
