As a therapist, my values to hold space when needed and help my clients work toward their social and emotional goals they have set is of great importance. It also is of great importance to advocate for my clients when they need advocating, whether in sessions or out of sessions through social activism, which also played a huge role in why I became a therapist. Wanting to give a space for children, adolescents and adults where they can feel safe, heard, respected, and be fully autonomous people is also another huge reason why I value and became a mental health professional as well. I started my career working within schools assisting students with managing their social and emotional well-being through play therapy and art therapy, while also collaborating with their parents and other professionals to ensure all of my client’s needs were being met. Since then, I have gained extensive experience working with clients of many groups who experience a wide range of behavioral and emotional concerns, such as anxiety, stress, ADHD, low self-esteem, difficulty with life transitions, trauma, depression, grief/loss, academic exploration, relational issues, and attachment disorders.
