My name is Jason Roy, and I serve as a mental health counselor with Saving Grace Counseling. I focus my work helping people who may be struggling with their Christian faith, anxiety, depression, addictions, marriage struggles, and athletes looking to improve their athletic performance through mental health counseling. I am in a pre-licensing and supervised status toward LPC-MHSP designation for the state of Tennessee. Through my history of counseling, I have worked in a wide variety of settings and helped a number of people overcome personal life struggles, particularly through the use of faith-integration techniques. After obtaining my Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Lipscomb University, I served as a mobile therapist where I would go into diverse, low-income communities and help teenagers, kids, and adults with their life struggles. This experience allowed me to see, understand, and have compassion on those who live and work in impoverished areas. I developed a greater heart for the hurting there. My journey also included a position of a Prayer Service Representative with a worldwide television platform, where I would take incoming calls from people all over the world and serve them through prayer to address their various spiritual needs. Approximately 10,000 calls were taken at this position, and it was a joy to help and pray for those who needed support and biblical guidance. In addition, I served as a Biblical Counselor for over 7.5 years, where I applied biblical concepts and the organization's proprietary process to help others experience grace and healing. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity as I was able to help others in approximately 6000 hours of counseling. I learned so much from the organization and leadership there that has contributed greatly to my faith journey. As a faith-based counselor at Saving Grace Counseling, I want to help you succeed! However, I don't want the success of my clients to necessarily to be by the world's standards, but by helping people experience the internal prosperity that comes from having a deeper relationship with God. I see that the mental health struggles many people encounter on a daily basis are directly related to their spiritual journeys as well as their past family and relational history. I believe in a Cognitive-Behavioral approach with faith integration that addresses mindsets as well as their corresponding actions. I want to help my clients get to the origin of their struggles internally so their lives can be lived with emotional rest and spiritual fullness. On a personal note, I have been married to my wonderful wife since 2015 and we have a young daughter, who brings such joy and fun to our lives. I am also a drummer for my church and enjoy playing golf when I find the time! I look forward to serving you in your counseling needs!
