Introduction

About Janelle Alabiso (Founder and Director of Greenleaf): My training is specifically in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I earned my doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Northeastern University. I completed my predoctoral internship at the Bedford VAMC, an APA-accredited site. My previous clinical training includes a two-year practicum position (2017-2019) at McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP) as well as practicum positions at McLean Franciscan Child & Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Program, the South End Community Health Center, and Billerica Memorial High School. I have also held clinical research positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston University, and the Bedford VA Medical Center. Through my comprehensive training at McLean’s intensive outpatient program, MAMP, I have a strong background working with individuals with OCD, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, specific phobias, separation anxiety and hoarding difficulties. I am passionate about working with people who are struggling with anxiety and OCD, and helping individuals face their fears in an empowering, supportive, and structured manner. About Vanessa Wells (Licensed Mental Health Counselor): Her prior work at Clearview Horizons, North Carolina State University’s Counseling Center and Cambridge Eating Disorder Center’s Residential & Outpatient programs has provided her with significant experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, OCD, and eating/body image related issues. School Counseling helped her integrate Special Education knowledge into a solutions-focused brief therapy approach with students struggling with school refusal/avoidance, anxiety, and peer conflict. She completed 3+ years specialty training in OCD/Anxiety disorders under two PhD-level clinicians with extensive experience at nationally recognized OCD programs in Rogers' and McLean's hospitals. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) within a multicultural family systems framework. Moreover, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a valuable and empowering technique when working with anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, and body image/eating struggles. About Vanessa Sams: She specializes in ACT focused therapy for youth demographics. Previous work has been through the Milton Public School System working mostly with trauma clients, with anxiety and perfectionism in students, and with students on IEPs. She also has a sub-focus on student athletes. Her emphasis is on inclusion of all demographics, as well as taking an ecological and constructivist approach to in-person therapy. Her work is within an ACT framework that also utilizes CBT and DBT strategies at times. Through Greenleaf Therapy, she is pursuing research in the use of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies within the therapeutic space. Vanessa holds: A double BS/BA in Chemistry and Literature from Boston University, A BA in Psychology from UMass, and An MS in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. About Katie Jurek: Katie earned her MS in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. She received her clinical training at 2 Harvard Affiliated Hospitals, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and McLean Hospital. Through these experiences, she gained a strong background working with individuals who experience anxiety, OCD, panic, trauma, PTSD, and depression. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, exposures, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and is solutions-focused. As a culturally informed therapist, she seeks to understand the context of her client’s lives and how those factors may be influencing their mental health. She is passionate about integrating her client’s many strengths into therapy to help them feel empowered and achieve their goals. We also have certified therapeutic art coaches offering art workshops for teens. To be added to our waitlist, please use the following link: https://forms.gle/Y4H3M5Kh6JrwfEWf8
