My belief is that change happens outside of your comfort zone. I am not the smile and nod therapist but rather a person who is not afraid to challenge you to dive deeper. My goal is to help you make lasting changes and stop living in the lies that are holding you back, you know, all those beliefs that are not true about you. I am a hard worker at my core and I expect the very same from my clients. For therapy to be successful I expect my clients to show up and be willing to work, this will also include “work” outside of sessions. I specialize in working with persons with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, grief/loss, emotion regulation, anger, and trauma, as well as navigating through life transitions. I use an integrative approach to therapy because let’s face it, no two people are alike. I believe the therapeutic process is as much of an art as it is a science. I am trauma focused and have experience utilizing resilience focused therapy to help create the inner strength and safety that you will need to work through the hard stuff. As we work together, I will utilize a mixture of approaches such as Positive Psychology, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Based Family Therapy and Solution Focused Treatment. Our first meeting will be an opportunity for us to sit down and go through an assessment of your situation to make sure that we are the right fit. If we decide that it is a good fit for both of us, we will create specific goals to focus on while in treatment. After that, we will meet on a weekly basis to gain the momentum needed to dive in and address your concerns.
