Introduction

I partner with you to help you find clarity and direction during these pivotal times of struggle. During this time, you may find that you are in need of support, perspective and coping tools. This can include exploring your spiritual, religious, and belief systems. Therapy doesn’t have to be solely focused on sadness or discomfort. It doesn’t have to steer clear of our most dearly held spiritual beliefs and experiences. Unlocking the spiritual dimension to our emotional struggles can lead to a profound new way of healing. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support you on your journey: humor, active coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), spiritually integrated psychotherapy (SIP). Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy is a therapeutic modality that taps into your spiritual beliefs. The essence of it is moving toward your spirituality to uncover forgotten spiritual resources or uncover new ones to help with purpose and renew vital energy. Together, we’ll unlock the healing power of your spirituality and uncover tools for your resilience—like breathwork, movement, connecting with nature, reconnecting with tradition, and identifying what nourishes you. My ideal client is someone who is committed to the therapeutic process—you’re comfortable talking about your spiritual and religious beliefs and experiences and ready and willing to do the inner work necessary for growth and transformation. You approach life with genuine curiosity and a desire for deep self-understanding. With vulnerability and an open heart, you come to therapy eager to explore new perspectives and ideas. I also believe that therapy doesn’t have to be solely focused on sadness or discomfort, and it doesn’t have to steer clear of our most dearly held spiritual beliefs and experiences. Unlocking the spiritual dimension to our emotional struggles can open up a whole new dimension of healing.
