Introduction

The most important factor in successful counseling is a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. This relationship is based on trust, respect, and empathy. When clients feel safe and supported, they are more likely to open up and share their thoughts and feelings. This allows the therapist to help them understand and change their behavior(s). I use an integrative approach in counseling, drawing on various theoretical models tailored to each client's needs. Some of the models include: Humanistic: Focusing on your strengths and potential. It emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and personal growth. Cognitive behavioral: Focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior. It can help you identify and challenge negative thinking patterns and to develop more adaptive coping skills. Systemic, which helps me view you as part of a larger system, such as a family or a community. It can help you understand how your behavior affects others and can work to develop more effective ways of interacting. Motivational interviewing is a therapy model that helps clients increase their motivation to change. It focuses on exploring your reasons for wanting to change and then develop a more effective plan. Psychodynamic theories focus on the unconscious mind. This approach can help you understand how your past experiences affect your current behavior. I integrate mediation and psychotherapy when conducting Adult Family Therapy meetings. Adult family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves working with adult members of a family to address and resolve conflicts, improve communication and help address some of the emotional challenges within the family unit. Gottman therapy techniques for relationship and personal counseling interventions are used as well. His techniques are effective in helping couples and families improve their communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen their relationships. Finally, I am a SYMBIS Facilitator and also work with couples early in their engaged/marital relationship. In my opinion, everyone has the potential to change and I am committed to helping my clients reach their higher potentials.
