James McCollum

Psychologist Presidio Psychotherapy
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiance,

Introduction

A good therapy session should feel emotional and immediate, yet grounded in the past so one can understand and feel old experiences in new ways. Sometimes there is laughter and sometimes there are tears. A good therapy session feels alive and satisfying. I am rigorous and intellectual while also being warm, playful, and creative. I am trained in control-mastery, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Regardless of the therapeutic approach, I strive to create a space where my clients can feel safe, discover associations, and experience something new. I work with children, adolescents, families, and adults. Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email.
