Have you ever felt stuck, unmotivated or unable to gain control over your life? Has life seemed unjust or just simply hard at times? I completely understand. Life can be overwhelming. During these times, self-reflection, honest conversation, and processing with a therapist can help. The decision to embark on the process of therapy takes courage. Just as important to this decision, is finding the right therapist. Everyone’s therapeutic journey is different. It is important to know that throughout your therapy journey, you may need different approaches at varying times. You may be looking for a therapist that will support you and other times you may be looking for direction. My versatile experience and approach to therapy will help you navigate this path. Hi, I’m Jamaal and my goal, as a therapist, is to empower you as my clients. I will do this by creating a safe space with you, to encouraging you during your process of exploration, and to providing reflection and guidance where it may be helpful. I am dedicated to fostering this inclusive and respectful space for all. Therapy can be a powerful tool to help build an understanding of yourself, gain confidence, and develop more fulfilling ways to move through life. I am motivated by helping people find the hope that change is possible when it feels nearly impossible. For more than 20 years, I have been an advocate for communities, families, and people that have been victims of both historical and systematic oppression. I’ve worked with clients to overcome past and present trauma, manage unrealistic social expectations, and address harmful habits. I will help you examine old patterns and behaviors, create new choices, learn new coping skills, and find the pathways to achieving your highest and best good. My greatest joy is helping men, of all ages, discover their inner purpose and strength. My approach to therapy draws upon a number of modalities to direct your healing, while understanding that all theories, techniques, and approaches do not fit every person. I look forward to working with you to design a clinical experience specifically catered to your mental wellness. At the core of this practice, I firmly believe that establishing a foundation of trust and respect is key to a healthy and authentic client therapist relationship.
