Introduction

I enjoy working with individuals and couples to explore what has brought them to the point of seeking therapy. I specialize in the complex dynamics of relational trauma and PTSD. Challenging relational dynamics that have been in place over time can be hard to understand or even articulate, but the pain is there. My own experiences, and trauma informed training, allow me to help clients find the words, and to make sense of their stories which have felt vague or confusing, often elusive. I seek to understand what clients wish to accomplish in therapy, and honor them as the expert of their own experiences. My first priority is to provide a safe, secure, environment where clients feel heard and understood. It is this environment that sets the stage for exploring what has previously felt overwhelming or confusing so that it may be resolved and lasting change can be found. I utilize the research-proven effective methods of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for treatment of PTSD, and for complex and relational trauma. In my work with couples, I use evidence-based and highly effective EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) to help couples identify their way out of the patterns in which they find themselves stuck.
