Hi there! It can be hard, going through profile after profile, searching through therapist after therapist. It’s not always easy to find someone you’ll trust with some of the things you might not want to talk about with just anyone. For that reason, I’m glad to be considered as a possible fit for your therapy journey. To help you out, here is a little information about who I am and what you can expect from our work together. I’m a systemic therapist, meaning that I look at a person in the context of larger systems that they are a part of, like your family system, work system, friend system, etc. While we don’t necessarily bring these people into the session, I do recognize that problems are often impacted by a person’s context and should be addressed accordingly. When we work together, I’ll bring the knowledge of the therapeutic process, and you’ll bring the content that we’ll work with (the goals you want to work on). Together, we can find ways to learn about, understand, cope with, or possibly overcome whatever it is that is bringing you to therapy. Therapy isn’t supposed to be exclusive to a certain type of person, a certain tax bracket, a certain culture, or a certain identity. I encourage my clients to bring all of themselves so that the work we do is most meaningful for them. I work with individuals, families, couples, people in diverse relationship structures, and with ages 6 and up. I specialize in LGBTQ+ mental health care, sex therapy, and sexuality education for all ages. If it sounds like we might be a good fit, let’s find out for sure!
