I’m James "Ashley" Ward (He/Him), Licensed Professional Counselor for 20+ years. I have a private counseling practice in a small friendly office at the Cascade Station in downtown Colorado Springs. Are you a person that has struggled with feeling stuck in their anxiety, depression, &/or PTSD? If so, my experience can help you. I prefer meeting for counseling in person but will allow telehealth therapy on occasion due to health or weather concerns. I use a person-centered, trauma informed approach to counseling. You will be provided a calm, encouraging, understanding & acceptancing experience. Your counseling needs and goals for therapy are the priority when working with me. I use evidence-based interventions including Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, CBT, as well as other others that are very beneficial. If you have dual diagnosis/substance use concerns, I am an ally to those who are living & practicing 12 step recovery! I primarily work with individuals but also their significant others, spouses and families as needed. My experience has focused on working with Adults and Seniors, and I welcome all genders. I am a friend and ally to all people, including LGBTQ+ community! I will soon be proviiding therapy groups - one for bereavement/loss including traumaitc losses and another reaching out to the specific concerns of LGBTQIA+ older adults (Gen X/Boomers!). Let's meet to talk in person and determine if I can help you in your healing and recovery process. The office is convenient - located near a bus stop, non-metered street parking, its own rear parking lot and handicap parking. There is an elevator from the main lobby to my location on the second floor. The suite is a comfortable space with a large, uncrowded (socially distant seating) private reception, with only one other independent Counselor! Routine office hours are Monday - Friday, with appointment scheduling beginning at 9:00 AM. Last appointment starting as late 6:00 PM. Professional verification provided by Psychology Today
