And by taking this journey with her, you will gain the tools to move forward with healthy boundaries, better communication, and deeper meaning. What is Walk & Talk Therapy? Walk & Talk Therapy is simply walking in a natural setting while doing talk therapy. We may stop and sit to talk, but the entire session will take place in nature. Clients report that the rhythmic movement and natural setting help the process of self-discovery and change. Wheelchair accessible trail sessions are also available and lovely. Telehealth and phone sessions are also always available. About Ivy Anna: Ivy Anna Rizzo is a licensed clinical counselor and ecotherapist. She has found that simply being outside and moving hastens the therapeutic process and allows clients to connect not only with her as a therapist but also with the healing and grounding power of nature. She is proud to have been licensed in the state of New Mexico since 2008. At this time, she is only serving adults. See fees and specialties below. Experience and Specialties: ​Ivy Anna has worked with a wide array of mental health needs and has a passion for working with both caregivers/helpers and those living through the transitions of special medical needs. She provides experienced evidence based counseling to those dealing with grief, chronic pain, caregiver burnout, new/chronic medical diagnosis, as well as other abrupt, challenging, or unwanted life changes. ​She also has expertise in Transpersonal Therapies, Dream Work, and Yoga Informed Counseling. She has been practicing Yoga for 28 years and is a trained Yoga teacher and proponent of Accessible Yoga. (200 YTT.) She incorporates mindfulness based stress and anxiety reduction (MBSR) into her work. Ivy Anna is passionate about Cognitive Behavioral Therapies for anxiety, insomnia, and trichotillomania. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia CBT-I, in which she has completed certification, and she values the symbiotic relationship between sleep and mental health. For anxiety disorders, she combines mindfulness with Exposure and Response Prevention ERP. She uses Habit Reversal Training for body focused repetitive behaviors. She believes in providing culturally experienced, anti-racist, and inclusive therapy services. Her work is LGBTQ empowering and neurodiversity affirmative. She is thankful to live and work on Tiwa Indigenous land. Her learning is a lifelong endeavor. Education: Ivy Anna completed her undergraduate degree in Rhetoric and Asian Cultural Studies at The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. At this time she also studied Asian Cultural Studies at The University of Hanoi in Hanoi Vietnam. Ivy Anna earned her Masters in counseling psychotherapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe where she studied Ecotherapy, Trauma and Griefwork, Mindfulness Based Counseling, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. ​She also attended the Masters program at Naropa University in Boulder where she studied Wilderness Therapy and Buddhist Psychology. During her post graduate life she has continued her training and education through trainings and wisdom traditions she holds dear including : Ecotherapy with Sandra Ingerman and Carol Parker PHD, LPCC, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in the tradition of Jon Kabat-Zinn, CBT-I with Colleen Carney Ph.D. CPSych, Food Allergy Behavioral Health Association involvement with Tamara Hubbard LCPC, Exposure and Response Prevention for Anxiety Disorders with Kimberly Morrow LCSW, Trauma and Grief EMDR through River's Edge Institute, Oppression and Liberation Work through Accessible Yoga and AIMC.
