Hello, my name is Iris Medina (she/her/ella) and I’m a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. As a Licensed Social Worker, I take a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating psychodynamic modalities, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I build trust-based therapeutic relationships with my clients, focusing on self-esteem, strengths, and self-exploration. Being Latina myself, I understand the challenges our community faces due to generational trauma and adversities. I'm dedicated to helping you unpack this burden with empathy. Together, we'll identify helpful patterns, find solutions, and embark on a journey towards fulfillment and happiness. I've worked with diverse populations, helping them navigate life transitions and manage feelings of stuckness, fear, and loneliness. My education and personal journey enable me to serve people from various backgrounds. I'm a proud Mexican-American from Chicago's southwest side, a native Spanish-speaker, and the first in my family to earn a Bachelor's degree in Latina/Latino Studies. I later obtained my Master of Social Work with a focus on healthcare. My passion lies in serving the Latinx community, addressing depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and childhood trauma. You don't have to face your struggles alone; I'm here to help you heal and take agency of your own healing journey.
