Introduction

Hi there! My name is Ingrid Hernandez, I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and master's level certified addiction professional (MCAP). I am a first generation Cuban American who grew up in a bilingual, multicultural household. Doing therapy in Spanish (or Spanglish) is always an option if you feel more comfortable. From an early age, I had a deep curiosity about people, their stories, and healing. My own journey in trying to better manage life stressors, learn about myself, and fully accept myself as I am has highlighted the importance of emphasizing client’s strengths, accepting (and even learning to love) what we cannot change, and learning new skills to cope differently in the future. My background includes being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have practiced over 7 years in various areas of specialties with diverse individuals since earning my master’s degree from the University of Miami.
