Children often do not have the words and vocabulary to fully express everything that has happened or how it has impacted them. When given a safe and nurturing environment in which a child can feel comfortable expressing feelings and working through life's obstacles, so much can be positively accomplished regardless of what a child may be going through. I am passionate about meeting each child where he or she is at emotionally by providing a warm, caring, and non-judgmental atmosphere in order to allow the therapeutic agents of change to naturally take place through play. I am a Registered Play Therapist and I currently serve on the board for the MS Association for Play Therapy. My specialty is providing counseling through Play Therapy, where toys are like the child's words and play is the child's language. Play is the most natural way of communicating with children and is a healing modality used to work through challenges. I have advanced training in Play Therapy in the form of a post-master's Specialist degree specifically in Play Therapy as well as years of Play Therapy specialized internships, supervision, and continuing education. My practice offers a fully equipped therapeutic playroom. I have worked with children in school and clinical settings since 2005.
