Often, when facing setbacks, it can feel like we’re moving backward. However, within each of us lies the ability to pause and step aside, allowing ourselves to recharge and continue moving forward. If you grew up in an environment where shame prevented you from taking control of your life and meeting your needs, it can be challenging to give yourself permission to simply be still. If you’re the first in your family to seek help in breaking generational cycles of abuse, feeling worthy enough to take charge of your life can be even more difficult. Balancing fear and hope can be a struggle. From my personal experiences and the work I’ve done with others, I’ve witnessed how self-compassion can lift the burden of unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors that our emotions can impose. Healing isn’t linear, and accepting that pain and growth can coexist is empowering. I believe that healing involves not only challenging your thoughts but also allowing your body and spirit to catch up, giving yourself permission to live in a way that aligns with your values. My experience in a Partial Hospitalization Program, Behavioral Health Unit, Non-Profits, and Cultural-Based Organizations has taught me to work with a diverse range of people facing various issues. This experience enhances my commitment to cultural sensitivity and helps me understand how one’s environment can impact their healing journey. I am dedicated to helping my clients take control of their lives and find balance within their mind, body, and spirit through various skills and techniques. I look forward to walking alongside you on this path of acceptance and liberation.
