Introduction

If you grew up in a household with abusive, narcissistic, codependent, addicted, or otherwise struggling parents, and now experience distress with feeling good-enough, finding fulfilling connections with other people, depression and anxiety, setting boundaries, and making sense of your reactions to various situations, then I can help. Also, if you are just having trouble with relationships - perhaps it's hard to make good connections with other people, or you are feeling isolated and are confused about how that has come about, then I can help you with figuring that out and developing the kinds of relationships you ultimately want. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, and integrate CBT, schema, narrative, motivational interviewing, interpersonal, insight-oriented, psychodynamic and other techniques in a collaborative therapeutic space. I am originally from New Zealand and have also practiced in Japan and England. I direct two psychotherapy practices and train clinicians. Maybe there are things you have never told anyone, maybe you're having emotions and experiences that are hard to make sense of, maybe you carry shame that is hard to express. I make it easy to bring those things in. I weave vulnerability, humor, warmth, and insight into my work with people, journeying alongside and finding a path through together.
