I have lived in Colorado for over 20 years now and have had the pleasure to study a wide variety of subjects to enhance my knowledge in the ever growing and changing behavioral health field. I received my Associate degree in Criminal Justice in 2004, received my Bachelor's degree in Management in 2007 and went on to receive my Master's degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy in 2012. My clinical work includes substance use, probation and parole populations within the criminal justice system, family therapy, couples therapy, individual, child, pre-teen and teen therapy and specialization in therapy services for first responders. I have worked in several different modalities, some of which include, inpatient and outpatient offender services, detoxification/withdrawal management services, private DUI agencies, private practice, inpatient hospital services in acute psychiatric behavioral health. I have worked over 10+ years in an acute hospital emergency department behavioral health setting, 4 years on multiple withdrawal management units, 1 year providing mental health assessments in an emergent psychiatric emergency department and 2 years in an inpatient substance use disorder treatment center. My primary focus is on mental health with a secondary focus on substance use disorders and addiction. These various modalities have allowed me to refine my experiences and proficiency in crisis, emergent situations and enhance my de-escalation techniques with varying age ranges and cultural backgrounds.
