Holly Barruso- Saving Grace Counseling

I have a license in Tennessee in Professional Counseling, as well as a license in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. My graduate education was rooted in a family systems approach with a later focus on Christian Counseling. I was trained in Infant and Toddler Mental Health by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. I am well prepared to work with the entire family system. I have extensive experience working with children ages 2 – 18, as well as adults of all ages, in a wide range of settings. I am trained to work with a variety of presenting issues and mental health diagnoses. I specialize in using play therapy to work with children and also work well with adolescents. I am a Christian and utilize my faith in my counseling, as long as the client desires this approach. I have a personal testimony of God’s healing in my marriage, and am passionate about saving marriages. I have been trained as a Dare to be Different Marriage Mentor and am a Certified Prepare/Enrich Marriage Facilitator. I have also found healing from depression and an eating disorder, and enjoy working with women who are struggling with those issues. I have worked in a variety of settings including several non-profit agencies, a residential treatment center for children in the foster care system, a private school, and a biblical counseling agency. This experience has given me a versatile background with which to work with many different populations of clients.
