Introduction

Hilary Handy, LCSW: Hi I am the owner and lead therapist of Soluna Counseling. I founded the practice in January of 2022 with a deep desire to serve my community. First, I want you to know that I will always see the best in you, unconditionally, I believe that you are a good person and you are doing the best that you can. We all learn patterns and coping skills to get us through the hard parts of life. Sometimes those don’t serve us anymore and sometimes they never did but we don’t know a different way. My job is to walk with you and support your work in healing old wounds, finding new patterns and learning new skills. I’m especially passionate about helping people overcome anxiety, fear, PTSD, attachment disruptions from hard early relationships or environments and traumatic experiences. I also really enjoy working with people that have ADHD like me. As a clinical social worker my perspective of mental health is holistic. I believe we must view and understand many factors when planning a path to wellness. We will work together to explore how your past experiences, relationships and environment impact your current experience and functioning so that you can set attainable goals to get to the future you want for yourself. Vicki Williams LPC-A: Vicki is currently licensed as an LPC-Associate under supervision with Dr. Jolene DesRoches, LPC-S. Vicki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her time as a school counselor, she currently serves in this role in a nearby school district. Vicki is excited to expand her knowledge and ability to serve clients more deeply in private practice. Vicki serves individual clients and families virtually. She has evening and Saturday appointments available to accommodate busy family schedules. Vicki works particularly well with children, parents and families. Vicki shares: I am a single mom, a USAF veteran, an avid learner, an avid reader, and so much more. I am eager to support clients from all backgrounds with a wide variety of concerns. I have vast experience with those identifying as transgender, those exploring sexual identity, anxiety, depression symptoms, self harm, suicidal ideation, clients wanting to learn positive coping skills, and much more. I prefer to use a variety of treatment methods to support clients where they are in their journey. I find that behavior centered therapeutic approaches work best with my style and clients. For example, cognitive behavior therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy are my go-to methods for many clients. I am also adept at using solution focused brief therapy. I look forward to working with you, your family, and other loved ones. Marissa Childress LMSW: Marissa is currently licenced as an LMSW under clinical supervision with Roby Adkins, LCSW-S. Marissa is projected to complete her clinical supervision and take her LCSW licensing exam in Summer 2024. Marissa brings a wealth of diverse experience from her time in many different social work fields from her work with children in Lockhart ISD to time working with probation to her experience with grief and loss working with hospice patients and their families. Marissa has truly seen it all. From Marissa: A bit about me. I am a Licensed Masters Social Worker under supervision with Robyn Adkins LCSW-S. I have a background working with clients from young children to the aging adult. During my career, I have assisted families processing major life changing events such as hospice, grief, living transitions into and out of nursing facilities, and care-giver fatigue. I work primarily with a combination of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT, Sand, Play, and Art therapy to find the best tools and skills to support you. And I have worked with individuals struggling with substance use and abuse. Along with those dealing with their legal issues. I have lived experience of the first responder’s lifestyle and the struggles they and their families may find themselves in. If you cannot see your way through this journey, just look for the next step. P.S. you’re already doing it. Let me help you find the one after that.
