Hello! My name is Heather Willard, and I am a professional counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, and other challenges. I partner with individuals and families to identify goals and develop a process that is complementary to each person’s needs and strengths. I love joining with individuals through counseling so they can be in a stronger place to grow, heal, and move toward wholeness. Therapy can be hard work, but it can also be fun and lead to strength and a deeper sense of joy. It is important to me to provide a peaceful and non-judgmental atmosphere so that we can work together to set goals, build healthier relationships, and move towards progress in a way that feels right to you. When working with adults, families, and couples I use a variety of evidence-based therapies, including traditional therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered approaches. My approach to working with children has been honed over my lifetime and includes a variety of techniques including experiential therapies, play therapy techniques, expressive sand tray work, and various forms of art therapy. I have over twenty years of experience working with children and families in a variety of roles, and that range of experience informs my approach to partnering with people seeking counseling. I believe in finding the right path for each person and each situation. I wish you nothing but success in your counseling journey and would be delighted to be a part of it. I hope you consider reaching out!
