Heather has over 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families and groups in a variety of different settings. She specializes in anxiety, depression, attachment, self-esteem, grief, trauma, eating disorders, communication issues, life transitions, family conflict, and relationship issues. Heather is a strength-based, person-centered therapist who works with clients to deepen connection and purpose while improving their well-being through self-care, mindfulness, and personal awareness. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part in the journey of healing. She is focused on psychoeducation and skills to elicit insight and growth. Schedule with me Heather is trained in EMDR, sand tray, mindfulness, Sensorimotor Level 1 and Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1. Heather works to empower her clients to be self-aware and builds a relationship with them using respect, compassion, empathy, and humor. She has special interest in working with military service members/veterans and their families. She works with clients aged 16 and older. Heather does not provide letters for emotional support animals and sees clients physically located in MN and WI via telehealth only. Heather has her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. She is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is located by Camp Ripley in Northern Minnesota, and enjoys spending time outdoors boating, snowmobiling, side-by-siding and gardening with her husband, step-daughter and dogs. You can find her on the trails somewhere in Wisconsin for most of the year.
