Heather McKee, LCSW completed her undergraduate education at the University of South Florida earning a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a specialization in child welfare and a focus in women’s studies. Heather completed her postgraduate studies receiving a Master of Social Work degree in clinical social work. After becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Work in the state of Florida in 2014, Heather also became a certified clinical social work supervisor. She has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and has explored many different therapeutic strategies to support her clients. Heather has worked in a hospital setting supporting patients and families through medical diagnosis and treatment, as well as a pediatric hospital providing long-term counseling in a chronic care clinic and crisis counseling in the emergency center. Her therapeutic experience also includes work in the academic setting providing counseling, mentoring, and behavioral supports to students in pre-K through college. Heather’s work has also included assisting families of children who have recently been hospitalized for suicidal or homicidal ideation under the Florida Baker Act. In her work, she has gained skills in working with family struggles, parenting stress, women’s issues, and postpartum adjustments.
