Hello, I’m Heather Satterfield (she/her) and I am here to support you on your journey towards healing and growth. Therapy can provide the space for you to explore feelings, understand your inner world, and make purposeful changes. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can share your experiences, ways of being, needs, and hopes in a way that is meaningful to you. If you're ready to move from overwhelm to clarity, I’m here to help. Contact me to learn more about my services or to schedule an appointment. I started in the counseling field in 2009, working at Chester River Behavioral Health as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee. My work there included individual and group counseling for clients experiencing problems related to substance use. I was licensed as a Graduate Professional Counselor for the State of Maryland in 2013. From 2013 through 2015, I provided individual, group, and couples counseling at Community Behavioral Health in Centreville, MD. Part of my work there involved school-based counseling services for children in the Queen Annes County Public Schools. In 2015, I obtained my MD license as a Clinical Professional Counselor and returned to Chester River Behavioral Health, providing individual counseling to children, teens, and adults. I have transitioned to providing therapy services as an independent practitioner as of 2025. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and am a Nationally Certified Counselor. When working with clients, my overall goal is to inspire hope, healing, and a sense of wellbeing. I believe it is important to build a positive and encouraging relationship with clients so that they feel safe to work on difficult and sensitive issues. Together, we can work on processing and releasing trauma from past experiences, understanding the complexities of our parts and identity, and finding a balance in our lives. I use a combination of therapy modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and motivational interviewing, to find the right fit for your unique needs. I want my clients to feel empowered to advocate for their needs, confident in their abilities, and confident about who they are and their journey forward. I am humbled and grateful for the trust that my clients have put into me over the years. I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from so many amazing individuals and families as they allow me to be a part of their journey.
