Hi there, I am the owner of Calm Mind Counseling. I obtained my Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences from Indiana University, where I majored in Human Development and Family Studies. I went on to obtain my Master of Social Work from Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis, and my concentration was in Mental Health and Addictions. I have been in the field practicing for nearly 10 years now. My experience began in a school setting, where I worked closely with kiddos, their family, and related school system. I went on to gain further experience working in a residential setting with at risk youth, as well as residential programming and partial hospitalization programming for eating disorders. I have now transitioned into outpatient level of care, where I specialize in trauma work and eating disorders. I take a variety of approaches in my work with clients. Knowing the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy, my main priority is creating a safe space for you as the client. I do everything I can to create a confidential, safe, and non-judgement zone. I stay strengths based & client centered, meaning I understand that you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to walk alongside you in your journey. I help you identify the strengths you already possess to unlock your full potential and take back control of your life. Other approaches I pull from include psychodynamic and cognitive therapies. I am skilled and have extensive training in providing trauma informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Additionally, I am able to provide EMDR therapy to assist in trauma work. I have always been, and will always be, truly honored to have the opportunity to be a part of each clients' healing journey. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
