Introduction

My name is Heather Howlett and I am the owner of Living Proof Counseling Services PLLC. I am a graduate of Lamar University receiving my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As an LPC-Associate, I am supervised by Samantha Airhart-Larraga, Ph. D., LPC-S, LCDC, NCC. I have experience working with children, youth, and adults in various settings including Child Protective Services, MHMR, and the criminal justice system. Types of counseling I provide include individual and family/couple. My counseling style focuses on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy incorporated with other psychological approaches. Depression and/or anxiety may be dictating your life at the moment, but it doesn't have to be that way. You may be experiencing uncomfortable feelings of helplessness and believe there is no hope of ever feeling better. You may not even remember the last time you were content, let alone happy. That's what I want to help you with. Together we can explore the meaning behind these feelings and ways to combat them. I believe that our thought patterns have a lot to do with our daily life and many of us, for various reasons, are wired to think negatively. It took years to get where you are today, so change will take consistency, practice, and hard work. However, the reward is priceless: your happiness, confidence in yourself, peace, and so much more! If change is what you are after, I am confident we will achieve it.
