Have you heard the saying, "No mud, no lotus"? A significant portion of who we are is an accumulation of our experiences. Unfortunately, those negative experiences tend to stay with us in a way that inhibits our potential. Rising through those negative experiences, we can develop in a positive and radiant manner. With purpose, trust in light, grow through muddy water and believe in new beginnings. To do that, sometimes, we find that we need help. I am a state of Maine licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals in need of mental health support across a variety of settings including the child welfare system, substance use treatment programs including Opioid Use Disorder programs, medical settings, foster care, community, in-home and educational settings. I hold a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Master degree in Social Work with a clinical concentration. I also hold a Maine Department of Education, conditional certification, as an Assistant Director of Special Education. I am experienced working with individuals who have or are experiencing complex trauma, lives touched by substance use, grief & loss including suicide, divorce, aging, domestic violence and many other significant life stressors. My part-time, private practice focuses on providing customized, solution focused, treatment to adults and teens 15+ years old. I provide skilled guidance toward a purposeful journey of personal growth provided on a flexible schedule utilizing solution focused, mindfulness incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and other evidenced based practices.
