I am passionate about helping others prioritize their mental health. I believe a healthy mind-set is the foundation for success in areas of family, relationships, career, and overall physical well-being. I prefer a down-to-earth approach to therapy where I want you to feel comfortable, whether that means showing up in your sweats and getting cozy under a blanket, lighting a candle, or sipping a latte during your session. I strive to create a collaborative space for healing and growth and can provide you with the tools to cope with your anxiety and trauma from an empathic place of someone who has experienced their own struggles with anxiety. I like to utilize humor and think that sometimes therapy is hard and intense, but at times it can also be light and uplifting. I have worked in community mental health for over 10 years, working with individuals living with severe and persistent mental health conditions. In my work with this population I encountered many individuals with complex trauma and developed a passion for helping them process past traumas and develop coping skills to reshape their views of themselves, others and the world in order to regain a sense of safety and control. I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Social Work and I am licensed to provide therapy in Nebraska and Iowa. I typically take an eclectic approach to therapy because I believe that every person is unique and I want to provide you with the best and most effective treatment. As I get to know you and your goals I can better navigate which therapeutic modalities will be most helpful in your therapeutic journey.
