Welcome my fellow warriors, I am Hannah, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Therapy is much like a craft, an art, an instrument, fine-tuned yet always learning through practice. We humans are much like an instrument, molding our identities while learning through our daily lived experiences. A unique factor of supporting individuals, couples, and families is their lived experience. Each story different from the next though all are sharing the same characteristic, resilience. Through each journey, the hardships brought unbearable pain, though underneath, the foundation of resilience is building, preparing each for managing the next difficulty in life. Resilient. Your journey through life gives you this gift, and with my commitment to upholding an authentic, honest relationship, I will travel the road with you to find your resiliency. As the listener, I re-enact the events in my mind to evoke the emotions coming forth; this allows me to validate, clarify, empathize, and learn more about the events leading us to this place. The lived experience shared in therapy awakens the moment's resilience has been present and will ground us in the future. Our experiences may have left bags of trauma on the front porch, though through retelling the journey, the bags can be unpacked and repacked with the awareness of your strength. We stand up stronger through every hardship, and all parts of us are valid in our growth. Please join me as we work together in managing life challenges and rewards—both equally special and valid in your journey. During our time, I will normalize your concerns, highlight all strengths, welcome unwanted emotions or "bad" parts of ourselves, for I believe every piece of you matters and deserves a welcoming place. I have experience working with numerous mental health symptoms and concerns, specifically; depression/ anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, PTSD present in children, teens, individuals, couples, and families. I have diverse education on sexual awareness and education, sexual desires and fantasies, suicide, self-harm, conflict/ aggression, crisis response, death/grief and loss, racial trauma, and social justice. I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and have completed trainings in Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), and Gottman Level 2 for couples. I look forward to taking a seat alongside you during your transformation.
