I am passionate about creating a space that is welcoming and accepting to all walks of life. I will work to help you gain a better understanding of how past or present life events have impacted your self-worth and overall well-being. My education and training are focused on helping you heal from significant life events or traumatic experiences. I ensure that you feel supported and empowered throughout your therapeutic journey. My perspective considers the surrounding environment you developed and matured in, the significant life events you have experienced, and the relationships you have had throughout your lifetime. I will work to identify and capitalize on your resiliency to strengthen your overall sense of self. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which decreases emotional intensity attached to traumatic life experiences and restores traumatic memories in a healthier, more adaptive way in the brain. EMDR is effective at treating a broad range of symptoms related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and difficulty adjusting to a recent life-altering change. Because trauma looks different for every client, EMDR can be adapted to your unique experience to help you heal, adjust, and move forward. I received a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Coe College in 2017, then went to graduate school where I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa in 2019. I have over three years of direct experience working with clients in the therapeutic setting, as well as extensive training and education in a trauma-informed therapeutic process. I look forward to hearing from you should you feel I may be a good fit!
