Hanh is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) As an ever-evolving and ever-learning clinician, she utilizes a variety of modalities in her therapeutic work. She specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), a neurobiological approach that targets difficult memories from the past that form problematic patterns contributing to current issues, such as difficulty trusting, perfectionism, self-doubt, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As she moves through this transformation together with her clients, her goal is also to help them learn, befriend, and develop self-compassion for all parts that, at times, have been in conflict and causing overwhelming internal turmoil. In addition to guiding clients through reprocessing the past, she incorporates humanistic, mindfulness-based, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help them find peace in the nature of impermanence and approach life in a gentler way. Being a Queer, Asian American therapist, she is familiar with the cultural barriers and challenges of identifying as an immigrant, a woman, and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community both professionally and personally. During the darkest part of her life, she was fortunate to cross paths with healing professionals who showed her hope. Since then, she has made it her life’s mission to pass on that hope to others. On top of providing psychotherapy to address emotional struggles in her clients, she also spent the past two decades providing support, advocacy, and interventions to older adults, foster youth, sexual assault victims, immigrants, adults struggling with mental illness and substance use, and LGBTQ identifying individuals. She constantly strives to provide a safe and healing space for all, especially those from underserved and underrepresented minority groups. With over 15 years of experience in the fields of psychology, human services, and counseling, she truly believes that the most effective therapeutic progress stems from a collaborative, mutually respectful process between two authentic human beings. Her purpose is to be a companion and guide through the journey to find meaning in suffering and to take steps toward self-compassion and self-actualization. If you’re interested in this approach, please feel free to contact her for a free consultation. In her personal time, Hanh enjoys camping, road trips, kayaking, caring for her fish, and playing with her dogs.
