As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), I focus my practice on clients who struggle with trauma, substance abuse, and personality disorders. I want to assist you with transforming your negative coping (substance abuse, self-harm, disordered eating, risky behaviors) into positive coping that will decrease your feelings of anxiety and detachment and increase your ability to sustain long-term relationships and employ self-love. I believe that many of our negative coping skills are rooted in a history of trauma, which requires careful consideration and a gentle, loving, experienced approach to process fully. My approach is best described as attachment-based. I am EMDR trained. I employ Getsalt and DBT techniques frequently. I also employ Somatic Experiencing techniques. As an Associate, I was supervised by Dr. Martha Koo, who provided my clinical training from a psychodynamic perspective. I offer a space free of judgment and full of empathy and understanding. My hope is that we will build a genuine relationship in the context of which you will learn about your relational patterns. I will challenge and motivate you through the use of humor, compassion, and rigorously honest and direct feedback.
