Introduction

I entered the field of social work intending to work with children and young families. However, during my internship at a senior living community, I was immediately and forever inspired by the residents and their courage to reconcile the complex challenges of aging with their determination to live as fully as possible. I have supported older adults and their families as they coped with grief, medical diagnoses, relationship conflicts, and physical/cognitive changes.
